Definitely need to try following some of this advice myself

do eeeet

this is the motivation i needed to do a lot of this stuff, thank you man

Yes, SLEEP #1! I swear everyone else must be crazy, I need 8 hours and I can't function sometimes even if I'm short just 2-3 hours of sleep. I can't focus, I struggle to feel engaged or find any enjoyment both from work or leisure activities and any kind of setback hits me a lot harder and I'm more likely to give up on something. It's a rule of mine that an hour of sleep is an even more productive use of my time than an hour of work.

I ought to try binural beats and se how it works for me.

i dunno how they do it

on the productivity side, I think sleep and social media are the biggest issues for me. It wasn't until recently when I started going to bed earlier and shit, and also I unfollowed everyone on Twitter since there were days where I'd just spend hours scrolling through the same shit that I had seen 10 minutes earlier, searching for something new. I still have a habit of opening up Twitter and checking it, but now that I don't follow nearly as much people as before, I've gotten better at closing out once I see stuff from earlier in the day. Recently I've been doing Twitch streams and those have been good for keeping me on task for a few hours or so.

also I gotta workout too oof shit man im out of shape

I do the same... thats a good solution I will steal

Try and install "stayfocusd" for Chrome! I told it to give me 20 minutes of "forbidden websites" a day and then it just locks (until it unlocks at night or resets the following day). You can block all websites or just the ones you get distracted to the most (twitter/facebook/reddit)

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stayfocusd/laankejkbhbdhmipfmgcngdelahlfoji?hl=en

Try it out. It helped me a lot!

Oh and try https://tomato-timer.com/ You press start and you have to focus on your work for 25 minutes. After the beep goes off you are allowed to do something else for exactly 5 minutes. Then you repeat.

There are many tips out there for productivity and motivation, and these are my favorites!

Also, if you can't start your day well: make a very detailed todo where you divide tasks into smaller tasks as well. It will help you going and will give you many gratifications during the day helping you keep going!

Hope this helps!

I find going out and being social to be beneficial. I think many people replace this with twitch streams or discord, but going out and having a non creative conversation with the barista or the bartender (dont drink tho its bad for u) or the girl / guy you always run into at your deli is a great break. I talk to this woman with thinning hair that i run into on the bus all the time, we usually bitch about weather but i walk into work refreshed that there is more to life than my design work.

I agree. I think shutting the creative mind off to live life is important.

I aim to get out once or twice a week,,, I need to more. The curse of working from my room.

Good read. I'm satisfied with myself that I've recognised all of these before reading your post. MUCH emphasis on going outside. I like being in my room when the house is silent, but too much will depress me.
