Came out awesome man. Love your color choices.

Good job!

"HEY YOU STOLE THIS MOVIE FROM ME I MADE IT." Just kidding (of course).

Its a real shame this sort of thing happens. Glad you made this short, hopefully it brings more awareness to those who actually pass off content as their own without a second thought.

Anyway, style was simple and sweet. Props to you.

While I'm not crazy about the content, I enjoyed this and found it to be very well animated. You did a marvelous job on interpreting the dialogue into acting. The consistent line work and smooth-as-can-be secondary actions (such as the top of Patrick's head) are icing on the cake.

I also thought it was funny/clever to take the phone call from Spongebob and develop a cool skit around it. Obscure, but much appreciated.

Nice little exercise here. Hope to see more from you.

"AWFUL. ZERO STARS."

Is the opposite of what I feel about this short. Good job fellaz! ;]

Thanks babe ;D

Pretty good for the most part.

Looks like you got kind of lazy at certain parts though. Like when stones were being thrown at pikachu, all it looked like was a bunch of random lines. No movement was really implied at all there.

I hate to be that guy also: but when I saw the thumbnail, I thought this was Spazkid's new pokemon toon to be honest. Not like he copyrighted the style or anything, but it really looks and feels like something he would do from the color palette to the acting choices. Put your own spin on it next time and instead of copying, improve or change the style. Its good to take inspiration from things you like, however, just keep it fresh.

Keep it up though, solid effort overall.

Pretty good, I chuckled a few times. I like the mix with realistic backgrounds and props and clean stylized characters.

My only complaint is that when the guys were gathered around the campfire, the drop shadow you used was cast in the same area and looked pretty flat, destroying any sense of depth you had created with the background. Also, that type of shadow was never revisited, in favor of a more circular shadow during the rest of the cartoon. But yeah, thats my only criticism.

Good luck with the rest of your episodes

Nice job, I see you have been improving. While I smikred once or twice, I can't say I laughed, but you're going in the right direction.

My biggest complaint is the drawing- their proportions are so odd and pudgy. I also wish their hands had fingers instead of being the little mittens that they are. Those rectangle eyes bother me too, they feel strange. I think from you news post you know and acknowledge that you have drawing issues to improve on, so keep at it. I mean I have plenty of drawing problems myself (im not trying to bash, just give criticism and hopefully help).

The coloring is nice; im really fond of that look. However, it seemed the same all the time, whether the characters were inside or outside, the lighting always seemed to be the same hardness (for lack of better word). There is no sense of the light changing. I think the super saturated colors and shading is something thats happening a lot lately in more flash toons, but colors don't always need to pop so much, sometimes subtle works better in certain situations.

Anyway im not trying to be a critical asshole or anything, im just trying to give feedback. Hopefully this review helps you somehow. Good luck with your future cartoons!

Twisted4000 responds:

Yeah about the mittens thing, you'll notice you see them a lot more often towards the beginning of the video, mainly because I really just couldn't draw hands very well then. I still can't really now, but towards the ending parts I got a better sense of hand anatomy (since while I was making this I was constantly practicing in the mean time). And yeah I do like vibrant colors. I know I'm kinda sucky at shading though ha ha :P but anyways I'm glad it was tolerable.

Man, your color choices are phenomonal. The visuals you created match RBFs high-energy wonderfully. Great stuff

Content is fine. While I didn't like it, I didn't hate it; im pretty neutral.

I found the sound work was pretty weak. For example, you had some very passive, non-exciting music play when Yoshi tripped. It just seemed so out of place; i'd like something a bit more psychedelic playing. I can't tell, but it seemed like songs from the games' soundtrack. It might seem fitting because its relative to the game, but for a tripping segment like that, it feels odd.

As for the animation and posing, I think the poses were alright and good for the most part, but you had a lot of twinning. By twinning I mean everything in the acting was very symmetrical; both hands were in the exact same pose many times (like if the left hand was raised, the right one was too, in the exact same position). Try for some more asymmetrical posing next time; I think you will find it more appealing and dynamic. Also, green Yoshi's eye twitch at the end was so slow moving and it looked weird independently animated - more muscles in the face should be moving when that happens (but this is heavily stylized so thats somewhat more acceptable).

While you avoided it for the most part, the times things were actually shaded, the saturation was way off and inconsistent. The apple at the beginning with red base color was very saturated, but the purple you chose to shade with was the opposite- hardly any saturation at all. When yoshi first started tripping, the colors and saturation on the few fruits you decided to shade were dramatically different than one another. Easy way to check this in flash is to grab the color with the color picker and select your color, then go to the saturation (S) bar and raise and lower the scales until you have something more consistent. Or beyond that, you could convert the object into a movie clip, mess with the saturation levels, eyedropper tool those colors and reuse them as you need them.

Also, the line-work was pretty inconsistent throughout.

Anyway I hope this helps somewhat. I'm not trying to be mean; I just see a few issues that I think need to be pointed out to help you. I have a lot of problems with my own work (some of these same ones) too. Good luck with future animations!

One year later and it's still phenomenal. Awesome job man, its inspiring. I love how much depth there is with no outlines whatsoever. I don't know what else to say that already hasn't been said.

Hope you upload the rest of your work here too.
