Quite brief, but really awesome, smooth animation.
Great work!

Okay.
I'm completely unfamiliar with your previous work, and I realize this was completed five years ago, in which time tastes and accepted standards have changed. However, publishing an animation from then doesn't excuse it from today's standards and I will review it accordingly.
The art is very minimal, all anime cliched poses such as darkening parts of the face out, pushing of the glasses and so on. Also annoying gradients and flat colors make it a bore to look at. The more painterly art right before you show the globe is at least interesting to look at. I'd suggest shying away from the pencil or line tools in the future.
There seriously is no animation aside from wiggling tweened hands and fingers and lip movement. Theres no emotion, and for such easy movements, there could really be more effort put into them. Or at least more effort into lip synch. The mouth shapes don't match up half the time, or change in emotion of any kind. With dialogue being the only somewhat redeeming value of this short, more effort should have gone into the characters expressing it.
The voices are okay, the guy with the glasses is annoying to listen to.
As for the story, it was a struggle to pay attention.
Anyway, even though this is old, it doesn't keep up with the times. While I have never heard of the series beforehand, it doesn't do justice to long term fans either for releasing so many years later.
In short, fine for 2007, not for 2012.
yes
nice audio lol, and I really dig your style. looking forward to more stuff from you probably incredibly handsome men.
neat
I don't really know much about minecraft, but tomamoto's voice is a beautiful chorus of burly, manly angels.
Davie didn't laugh, but I did.
That was some fun experimental animation there. I particularly enjoyed the shifting hallway loop, it was nifty to watch. Good dream.
Nice job
I had to give this a second watch and look at your other work before I could articulate this comment. My feedback here is only me trying to help you improve, not be mean.
The story progression is interesting - the structure is sound and you throw the viewer right into the middle of the action, getting their attention quickly. I think the only gripe I have with the story is it's a bit confusing at first - what is the significance of the green flame atop the tree? Why is it important to the other green creatures, how does the villain obtain it, what is the villian's goal, and more importantly, why does the green flame choose the boy to become a guardian?
The two enemies of good storytelling are confusion and boredom. You certainly have an exciting piece here, but it is a bit confusing the first time you watch. Structurally, everything else is in place. My advice for the future would be: think about each characters motives and how you can explain them - it seems some characters just were there for the sake of being there.
Telling the story is the most important part, sure. I think you did a good enough job with the story that the drawing and animation could be looked over. That being said, the animation was kinda choppy and weird at parts - look to his run sequence, the being dragged across the cliff part, and the flying over water scene. Kind of awkward. I think you have a nice style going on though, and your coloring was pretty great too - I loved the lighting from the green creatures. Some of the drawings were very stiff too, for the record.
But anyway, I think you have improved nicely from what I have seen. I think this was a pretty awesome flash and you should be proud of the score you got, and even more so the accomplishment of a good story. I hope my comments help you in some way.
praise da pebbles
im so fucking glad you made this.
that obnoxious joke/meme was never funny and never will be, and im sick of fucking hearing it. You are a saint.
wow.
That was great.
Also, those were the best fucking backgrounds I've ever seen done in flash, ever. I don't even know what else to write. Nice job!
oh jeffy
I shouldn't laugh, but I did and will continue to do so.
